Re: Stuart Fraser

I have known Stuart for some 25 years during his time at Pirelli. Firstly as on operative in the Finishing area, but more recently during the last 10 years for helping to bring in new and innovative approaches to the introduction of change'' in an industrial environment.

Stuart has a natural artistic talent that remained untapped for years and that, along with his ability to couple it to computer and IT solutions, made his skill unique and much used during the major change process involving the workforce at Pirelli.

The introduction of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance or Total Productive Management) was a complete change of operator involvement and was built around the elimination of waste, joining of jobs, reduction in operation numbers and productivity improvements. This combined with operators having to move over boundaries of job zones, ie. process doing mechanics jobs and mechanics doing electrical jobs, all after training, which needed to be communicated well and clearly and with no ambiguity. Stuart was at the forefront of this, producing posters, doing explanations on pc's, writing presentations, animating movements and providing basic information. All through the journey of change his input has been invaluable.

Stuart continued on his own and with the help of Pirelli, to extend his training and he is now fully competent in Visual Studio, programming (using C#, Java Script, & Certified Microsoft in SQL Courses), web design and multimedia and design, including video editing and special effects. I understand he is now qualified in project management, which means he can take a job from “creation to completion” utilising all of his skills.

Outside of Pirelli, Stuart has helped with presentations to business managers in Carlisle which resulted in some £30,000.00 of sponsorship for the Cathedral, which partly covered the cost of repairs to the east end and he designed display boards to communicate to the to the Public what was happening.

I would recommend Stuart to any business, in particular if you have a message to give, he can take the “germ of the idea'' and turn it into a full blown story/presentation
