It might be a good time to explain about the options available for your web site.
The two main types are:
1. Traditional static sites
2. CMS - Content Managed Site (self managing)
Traditional web sites are made up of a series of static non dynamic pages. Each page on your site is a physical entity whose menu systems, images, hyperlinks, text and other features have been manually inserted by the web designer.
Editing these static pages requires you open the page in a dedicated web editing software programme then physically make any changes and re-save it.
Or more commonly, the changes are made in a master web site held on the designers workstation, then tested before being re-submitted to the web server to overwrite the live page.
CMS Sites need an infrastructure that contain thousands of files and scripts that work with a database (usually) to present a feature-rich web-site.
Normally, CMS sites are designed and initially created by developers as set up is time-consuming requiring the large infrastructure to be installed, databases to be set up, and templates must be programmed and styled before any pages and content can be created.
We also offer as standard a simpler CMS option on our static websites for users that only need the option of updating the content on a page or a small section of a page on an irregular basis
